Marc Porel (Real name Marc Michel Marrier de Lagatinerie)

Born on the 3rd of January 1949 in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Following in the footsteps of his father Gérard Landry, a very prolific film actor with over 100 films on his resumé, and his Mother and Grandmother, who were  also successful actresses, he got his first film acting role in Costa Gavras' ‘Un Homme de Trop' (aka Shock Troops) in 1967.

A steady flow of film work followed with his first Italian production coming two years later with a small part alongside French superstar Alain Delon in ‘The Sicilian Clan'. It wasn't until 1972 however that Marc would gain star status following a career defining role in Lucio Fulci's ‘Don't Torture a Duckling' (aka ‘Non si sevizia un paperino') as the paedophilic Priest Don Alberto Mallone.
During his all too brief career Marc starred alongside a diverse range of actors that include Ursula Andress, Alain Delon, Ray Lovelock, Jennifer O'Neill, George Hilton, Helmut Berger, Trevor Howard, Al Cliver and even a young pre-porn Moana Pozzi. The range of Directors he worked with was equally diverse with films made by genre favourites such as Lucio Fulci and Ruggero Deodato sitting next to ones by such luminaries as the Italian maestro Luchino Visconte.
In 1977 he married the Italian actress Barbara Magnolfi, who shot to fame after appearing in Dario Argento's masterpiece ‘Suspiria' (1977). Marc and Barbara met whilst filming Umberto Silva's ‘Difficile Morire' (1977) and the pair went on to star in two further films together, Gianni Martucci's ‘Blazing Flowers' (aka ‘Milano… Difendersi o morire') (1978) and Enzo Milioni's ‘La Sorella di Ursula' (aka ‘Ursulas Sister') (1978).

Though Marc was an extremely successful and talented actor he had an incredible self destructive streak and had a dark side to his personal life that would ultimately be his undoing. Years of Heroin and Cocaine abuse eventually saw Marc as a shadow of his former self, the once strikingly handsome film star who starred alongside such legends as Alain Delon would end his career featuring in a film where an up and coming porn star took top billing...

Marc Porel died from Meningitis in Casablanca, Morocco, August 15th 1983.
